Jim Keaveney's Magical Brewery Tour

Here's an event that originates and terminates at the G-Lodge.

Sat 19 Apr Jim Keaveney's Magical Brewery Tour. Step up,
step up for the Magical Brewery Tour. The Magical Brewery Tour is waiting to take you away. Jim has rented a bus and planned a big itinerary.
  • Breakfast and great coffee at The Grey Lodge. 9am
  • The bus leaves at 10am.
  • Appalachian in Harrisburg 12:00 to 1:30 pm
  • Lancaster Brewing Co. 2:15 to 3:45 pm
  • Stoudts Brewing in Adamstown 4:30 to 5:15
  • Sly Fox Pheonixville 6:00 to 7:30pm
  • Return to G-Lodge (approx 9 pm)
Jim: I am collecting a $40 deposit per person which is the cost of the bus (with bathroom of course) and breakfast. I am going to contact the breweries and see if they can work out food trays for us at a reasonable cost. I will not spend more than $5 per person at each location so the most the total would be is $60. Beer is on your own and if I can't get something on the food worked out it will just be $40 for the trip and beer and food would be on your own. (Note: ABC has already agreed to the food tray and there will be a brewery tour a 1pm for those interested. More details to follow). So, if you want in, let me know and get me dough! Email Jim. If that link craps out, Jim's email is

Nobody ever comments on Grey Lodge news.

Troeg's is right down the street from Appalachian. Why not swing by there too?

Because of the limited time. They do not have a brewpub. I am sure they could arrange a tour and sample but time is limited with this ambitious schedule.

BTW: Nice write up Scoats. I remember not being able to find the Flyers trip writeup. Probably because I was looking under "Events" not "News". Doh!

Having done beer tours for over 10 yrs, it's MUCH easier to arrange for a beer and some food at every stop for a set price, and then include it in the overall price for the day. Also, I agree that you should not miss a visit to Troegs, whose beer is much better than Appalachian. And the Troegner brothers are great guys and big fans of the Grey Lodge!
