- Community Event: This is very worth doing. If you are around Mayfair on Friday afternoon, join in welcoming home Kevin McCloskey, a Northeast Philadelphia son and solider who had been severely wounded in the war in Afghanistan, on Friday, October 31 at 1pm on the 4100 Block of Princeton Avenue. To assist the McCloskey family through Kevin's rehabilitation, a "Support Spc/4 Kevin McCloskey Fund" has been established at Wachovia Savings Bank. To donate mail to: "Support Spc/4 Kevin McCloskey Fund", 5135 Bleigh Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19136.
- Lancaster Hop Hog replaced Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale. Hop Hog is Lancaster's double IPA, which should put our hopheads in hog heaven.
- Cricket Hill Fall Festivus replaced Sierra Nevada Porter. From our draft card: “This amazing unfiltered Autumn brew falls somewhere between Cricket Hill’s popular ‘American Ale’ and their equally-popular ‘Hopnotic IPA’ but takes on a taste all it’s own. A fantastic Ale that one must seek on the journey of microbrew obsession.“ Wow, think they are little full of themselves? I am told this beer lives up the hyperbole. And it says you MUST drink it, so you better obey. Jeez.
- Rebecca Bittner's birthday is Thursday. Hopefully she'll be in for her free birthday beer. Whether you are mentioned here or not, come in on your birthday for a free beverage (max value: $5).
