Draft Changes
Both dunkel weisses kicked. That's a rare style to find and even rarer to have two on tap at once. Last week sure was sweet! But then this week is sweet too with lots of hoppy beers.
Replacing Stoudts PA Dutch Dunkel is Sierra Nevada Chico IPA. Here's the unofficial story on Chico IPA (don't let Sierra Nevada know I've told you): Sierra was trying to brew Chico Estate Harvest Ale, but someone screwed up and some non-Chico grown, non-wet hops were thrown into the mash. Uh-oh! Sierra has a 100 barrel brewhouse, which means they brew 200 halves per batch. Too much beer to throw away. What to do? Boil it further to increase the gravity and heavily hop it with kiln dried Yakima hops from the 2007 harvest, to make a one-off IPA. Out of 200 halves, four made their way into our market, and we’ve got one. I'll be having one as soon I'm done here in the Mgmt Bunker. I am told it's really tasty.
Replacing Franziskaner Dunkelweisse is the long delayed High and Mightly St. Hubbins (1/4 barrel). I'll probably have one of these too.
This Weekend
If tomorrow's Greg Trefz Bonfire BBQ Fundraiser needs to be rescheduled due to rain, it will be posted here.
Sunday's Crafty Tracy event here at The G-Lodge is a go rain or shine.
