Date Set for Philly Beer Geek Preliminary Round

The poll responders have spoken and Sunday is the day. The Philly Beer Geek Preliminary Round here at The Grey Lodge will be Sunday, 01 March at 7pm.

The purpose of the Annual Philly Beer Geek Competition is to identify, exalt, and honor Philadelphia beer and the people who craft, celebrate, and consume it with enthusiasm and pride. To this end, we will select and reward, as Philly Beer Geek 2009, the individual who exhibits the greatest universal knowledge and passion for Philadelphia Beer.


Contestants will be judged:
1) objectively on beer knowledge in a quiz round
2) and subjectively in a beer geek free form round where each contestant will have 30 seconds (more or less) to demonstrate their passion for Philadelphia Beer using whatever method, means, or medium they wish (preferably clothed).

We will send the winner of our Preliminary Round to represent us at the Semi-Finals at Manayunk Brewpub on Thursday the 5th.
