2009 Grey Lodge Beer Geek

Congratulations to Steve Hawk who is the official 2009 Grey Lodge Beer Geek. The Grey Lodge Beer Geek goes on to represent us at the Philly Beer Geek semi-finals, which are this Thursday night at Manayunk Brewpub.

Steve showed both his knowledge and passion for craft beer by getting the highest score in the Knowledge Round, and impressing his fellow contestants in the Passion Round, who unanimously voted him the winner.

His fellow contestants Nick, Aaron and Chris all showed impressive beer knowledge and real passion for craft beer. We wish them luck next year. In a photo-finish, Steve came in 2nd for Grey Lodge Beer Geek last year.

Besides the wonderful crown, the Beer Geek won a rare and pricey bottle of beer, a Philly Beer Geek T-shirt, and bunch of honorary stuff here at the Grey Lodge through the year. These honorary things aren't fully known yet, but include getting to tap a firkin at the Firkinteenth.

We'll be crowing a new Grey Lodge Beer Geek in February 2010, so you have loads of time to prepare.
