Phil is out in Palo Alto doing college student hi-jinx, so it falls back to me to do the Blog update.
Draft Beer Changes
Here's what Phil is missing out on.
It's spring so that means it's hop harvest time on the bottom part of the planet, which means it's time for Sierra Nevada Southern Hemisphere, the wet-hopped beer that uses fresh hops from South America. It replaced Elysian Avatar Jasmine IPA.
Rogue Black Lager replaced Flying Fish Farmhouse. I love schwarzbiers. This will without a doubt be my first after work beer tonight.
Penn Weizenbock replaced Manayunk Whistle-Whetting Wheat.
Yesterday I tapped a firkin of cask-conditioned Fullers ESB for our handpump. This is a rare treat.
New Event
Join us on Wednesday for Weyerbacher Zotten Debut at 7pm. Hard to believe but Weyerbacher has found a beer style they haven't done yet. Their latest beer, Zotten, is a Belgian-style pale ale. Actually it turns it out that it IS a style they've done before. The first of their one-off beers, Weyerbacher Alpha, has graduated to the big time and is now an annual spring seasonal. The first 24 customers who order a Zotten will get a free glass.
Then stick around for US Men's National Soccer with The Sons of Ben, at 9pm.
