Draft Beer News
I was out of town for a couple of nights and 7 lines change over; I should leave town more often. I did update this on Saturday morning before we left. Anywho, kicked were: Yards Brawler, Sly Amarillo Pale Ale, Manayunk Black Eye PA, Breckenridge Avalanche, Cricket Hill Nocturne, Brooklyn Manhattan Project.
Tapped are:
- Manayunk 2007 Knokdechiloff, which is our last Monday's Sixtel for 2009. Monday's Sixtels are big beers served in small glasses. This one is a barely wine that has been aged for over 2 years!
- Sixpoint Bengali Tiger IPA is our lead off beer for the 2009-2010 Beer Season. Beer Season is our longest running promotion, now entering its 14 year. The deal hasn't changed in 14 years. Drink all 13 beers of the week, one per week for 13 weeks, get a free special edition T-shirt. This year's Beer Season will focus on hoppy beers and spiced beers and the range of hoppiness or spicing that can be found in beer. Bengali Tiger is one of Tony Scanga's favorite beers. Drink one and find out why.
- Brew Dog Dogma, a quarter barrel, was tapped to celebrate St. Andrew's Day, which is today. Chef Jason has cooked up some Scottish food specials. Our kitchen is open til midnight, so there is still plenty of time to get them. The Scottish food specials might be on tomorrow too. Dogma is brewed with kola nut and other strange stuff. I will definitely have one tonight after I finish working.
- One of my favorite beers, Victory Scarlet Fire, just got tapped. Scarlet Fire is a rauchbier, which they use some smoked malts. Victory, as usual, gets this one perfect. The smokiness very deftly makes this an super tasty beer, and it's session strength.
- Here's one for the hopheads, Manayunk Hop Phantatic.
- Stoudts Flashback Bock is a re-release of the original Stoudts Dark Lager. I love dark lagers, and Stoudts is a great lager brewery. This is one I can't wait to try.
- Sly Fox Renard D'or is a Belgian strong ale in the style of Duvel. Man that sounds tasty too.
