Draft Beer Update
Wow, Victory Harvest Pilsner was tasting incredible last night. Steve Lyford mentioned how much he was enjoying it, so I said I'd make it my first beer after work. It tasted so great, I couldn't switch when it came time for another beer, and another. Replacing it is another wet-hopped beer, Great Divide Fresh Hop. Unless something else shows up, this will be our 2nd to last harvest ale for the season (Philly Harvest from the Hood, due in next week, will be closing out our run of harvest ales).
The extremely wonderful Ithaca Cold Front kicked. Being so jazzed with Victory Harvest Pilsner last night, I didn't have any of the Cold Front, though I did have some earlier in the week. Some opportunities seized means some other opportunities must go unseized.
Replacing Cold Front is a beer I really am looking forward to, Flying Fish Exit 1. This, the third beer in Flying Fish's Exit Series, is an oyster stout brewed with real Jersey oysters. As Bruce Springsteen said, "No one here gets out alive". Well, at least oysters in brew kettles. OK it was Jim Morrison who said that, but that sort of ruins the New Jersey reference. Damn facts, so often getting in the way of things. But that doesn't stop Fox News, so it ain't gonna stop us.
Update: Just I was out, they pull me back in. Just as I was about leave, Southampton Pumpkin kicked. Replacing it is Dock Street Great Pumpkin.
