Draft Beer Changes
Six barrels kicked: Sixpoint Bengali Tiger, 2008 Troegs Mad Elf, 2009 Troegs Mad Elf, Troegs Dream Weaver Wheat, Brew Dog Dogma (quarter barrel), Victory Scarlet Fire. The two Mad Elf kegs didn't even last out the shift. More Mad Elf will be arriving this coming week.
Tapped:
- Philadelphia Newbold IPA. Wow that last Sixpoint Bengali Tiger kicked in less than 24 hours. It was our 3rd keg of it this week for week one of 2009-2010 Beer Season. If you haven't signed up yet. Fear not. Newbold is taking over for the rest of week one. You still have today and tomorrow to sign up.
- Great Divide oak aged Yeti. This huge imperial stout really responds well to oak aging, where they take finished beer and age it for in old bourbon barrels.
- Flying Fish Grand Cru, Fish's long standing winter seasonal, is back on tap. This one is a long, long time favorite here at The Grey Lodge.
- Elysian Bifrost. The name is sort of stupid; the description is sort of lame, but the beer is neither. We tapped one of these last year, and it moved quickly.
- Saranac Seasons Best Nut Brown Lager. I remember really liking this one a lot a few years ago, when I got a Saranac 12 beers of Xmas 12-pack. Just a really nice little beer. Here's hoping I still think the same when I have one tonight.
- Founders Pale Ale. I had this one at a South Philly block party a few months ago. Jeez Louise was it good. I wasn't really planning to have a beer that afternoon, but it was so good, I not only had a beer, I had more than one. Just a perfect beer. Malty, hoppy, no extremes, all the elements combining perfectly.
