Draft Beer Update:

On the handpump, cask-conditioned Bear Republic Racer 5 replaced itself.

Port Midnight Sessions replaced Stone Supremely Self Righteous. It is a Schwarzbier to be enjoyed anytime of day, not just at the witching hour. This beer is made from the second runnings of Lost Abbey Serpent Stout, which is also on tap right now, and which is why small pours of both are this week's Stout Season beer. What are second runnings? When brewers brew a high octane brew, such as Serpent Stout which clocks in at 11% ABV, they need to use lots and lots of pricey malt. There are often enough sugars left in the malt to brew a 2nd smaller beer. So when water is run through the malt a second time, it known as the second running.

Lost Abbey Serpent Stout replaced Boulder Hazed and Infused. Serpents Stout is an imperial stout and the other half of this week's Beer Season beers. It has a high ABV, so small pours only. Get a small pour of the Midnight Sessions and you have yourself a pint.

Sixpoint Apollo Wheat replaced Sprecher Hefe Weisse. There is no description for the Apollo, but being from Sixpoint, I am sure it is a very good wheat beer.

Woodchuck Amber Cider replaced Woodchuck Granny Smith Cider. Apples for apples, not much else to say.

Stone Smoked Porter replaced itself.
