"Scoats,
My friends and I observe the annual NE Philly tradition of going to the bar on Thanksgiving Day morning to meet, have beer and have some fun before family obligations take over for the rest of the day and weekend. We've been doing it for at least 15 years, probably longer. In most cases it's only this day, once a year that we all get together.
Well we've finally decided to celebrate a Half Way to Thanksgiving Day and we've decided to celebrate it at the Grey Lodge. The actual half-way mark to Thanksgiving Day is the Thursday before Memorial Day Weekend. Everyone is busy that weekend so we moved it back a week to Friday May 21st. Friday so we could enjoy a long weekend.
We're gonna have fun no matter who shows up. We were just thinking - in your tradition for unique beer events - that you might like to make this a new one. You could serve Thanksgiving-themed food, and tap left over Fall beers and Oktoberfests, etc.
We've already decided to do this annually so we get to see each other twice a year instead of just once - and we thought you might be interested in creating and promoting another special beer event that's unique to NE Philadelphia.
Where else can we celebrate the half way calendar mark of a early morning holiday tradition, by setting up an event where we drink beer early in the morning?"
How could we say no to that?
Join us on Friday at 11am for some 1/2 Way to Thanksgiving Fun. Of course loads of great beer.
Food specials
- Egg Sandwich,
- Thanksgiving Platter,
- and Thanksgiving on a Roll.
This will be a great day to wear a Flyers jersey because it's a very Northeast thing to do, and well... Go Flyers!
