Draft Beer Update
We are gradually getting the six Sixpoints tapped for Wednesday's Sixpoint 601 on 06/01 (more details below).
Sixpoint Harbinger Saison replaced Founders Centennial IPA. Harbinger, a saison, is Sixpoint's latest seasonal.
Sierra Nevada Torpedo replaced itself, again.
This Week at the Grey Lodge
Today (Monday), Memorial Day, our first floor bar is open usual hours, 10am to 2am. Our kitchen will be open from noon to 8pm.
Wednesday is Sixpoint 601 on 06/01. We will celebrate June 1st by playing 601 darts, easy on, double off, and having 6 Sixpoint beers on tap. Jersey Dan, who will be celebrating his first anniversary of working as Sixpoint's Philly rep, will have prizes for 601 dart winners. That starts at 7pm and goes til 9, or later.
Also on Wednesday, as usual for a Wednesday, we will have Quizzo on our 2nd floor. This week's Quizmaster will be Quizmaster Mike. That's at 8pm. As always there will be prizes and no cover charge.
On Friday morning, the Hammer of Glory will stop here on it's merry route through the city, stopping a various beer destinations until it finally ends up at the Opening Tap, at the Independence Visitors Center, just in time for Mayor Nutter to ceremoniously tap the first keg. The HOG travels each leg of the journey by a different (and often wacky) mode of transportation.
Miss Hammer and the HOG are scheduled to arrive from Hop Angel Brauhaus by convertible, waving and blowing kisses, at 10:50am. The HOG will depart The Grey Lodge at 10:58am by bike caravan to Philly Brewing . If you want to join the bike caravan, be at the Grey Lodge and ready to ride at 10:58am on the dot.
On Saturday at 8pm we will have our first official 2011 Philly Beer Week event, Dead Presidents with Yard Brewing. All Yards Fathers of the Revolutions beers will be on tap, plus some bourbon barrel aged ones. And we'll have a bunch of presidents in attendence, who will likely do what politicians do.
On Sunday, it's a double dose of Philly Beer Week fun. At 7pm, we will have Lew and Scoats's Upstate PA Beer Trek. Lew and Scoats (me) journeyed around our great commonwealth, visiting various small breweries, and bringing back booty. Drink the fruits of our travels. At 9pm, Cigar City Lights Up the G-Lodge. We'll have one of the founders of Cigar City in the house, plus some rare Cigar City beers on tap.
Wow. I'm worn out just typing all that and week has barely even started. And we have even more going on next week for Philly Beer Week. Please check our calendar page for more details.
