One of the region's greatest little breweries, Boaks, is celebrating their 4th anniversary. Boaks makes some amazing beers. They don't actually have their own brewery, but brew out of two other local breweries. It works! Their Belgian beers are spot on. You know the region is a great beer region when operations like Boaks are around. We are celebrating by putting on tap all the Boaks beer we can find. All we could find wound up being 4, which matches their number of years. On tap for Saturday will be Boaks Double BW, Boaks Monster Mash, Boaks Two Blind Monks, and Boaks Wooden Beanie. Brewer/owner Brian Boak will be on hand for meeting, greeting, candle blowing, hand shaking, and baby kissing. It's an anniversary, and you can't have one of those without cake, so we'll have cake too. This is a rare opportunity to try all of Brian’s beers at once.
The cake we got from Hesh's looks amazing. You can smell the chocolately goodness coming off it. And cake will be on the house. Stop on by!
Draft Beer Update
Sam Adams Tasman Red replaced Sixpoint 7th Anniversary Ale. Tasman is a red IPA that uses Tasmanian hops, which are full of grapefruit, pine, and earthy notes. You hopheads should love it. After Tasman, we will tap the first of 5 kegs of Troegs Nugget Nectar for this year.
Just in time for tonight's Boaks event, Boaks Double BW, replaced Ommegang Witte. Double BW is a wheat beer with lemongrass. Adding lemongrass always seems to result in a great beer. This beer is evidence.
Boaks Two Blind Monks replaced Brooklyn Mary's Maple Porter. Boaks Two Blind Monks is their abbey dubble.
Boaks Wooden Beanie
replaced Dock Street Sexy Beast. Boaks Wooden Beanie is a brown ale aged in Jack Daniel’s barrels with Madagascar vanilla beans.
Boaks Monster Mash replaced Voodoo Gran Met. Boaks Monster Mash is an Imperial Russian Stout.
