Wednesday is Quizzo as usual. What's not usual is former Quizmistress E-unit will be back, co-hosting with Quizmaster Pete. I hear it will be an all 90s Quizzo, so brush up on the Spanish-American War and Grover Cleveland. Or maybe they mean the 1990s, in which case just brush your hair up. As usual Quizzo is at 8pm on our 2nd floor.
Behind the scenes Chef Dave will be working on the release 10 or is it 11 of our food menu. We have some exciting new things, including a vegan option or two that even the most hardcore carnivore will enjoy. I will be getting ready for our Sweet & Sour 16, which is two Saturdays from now. It will be epic.
Draft Beer Update
On our biggin' line, a sixtel of Weyerbacher Seventeen replaced a sixtel of Great Divide Anniversary Wood Aged Double IPA. Seventeen was brewed for Weyerbacher's 17th Anniversary (they have a year on us). It's a huge, huge, huge saison weighing in at 10.5% ABV. It as most of, it all of, the stuff brewers throw into saisons, like peppercorns and three types of fruit zest. This is a one and done beer, so enjoy it while it lasts, unlike the Terminator it won't be back.
Yards Thomas Jefferson Tavern Ale replaced Philadelphia Rowhouse Red. TJ is always a very popular beer. This is an big (8%) amber ale based on a recipe from Thomas Jefferson. It has some weird colonial stuff in it since back then they didn't have access to barley like we do now.
We Won Something
We are very honored to have made this year's Philly Mag's Best of Philly for best beer events. That was a nice surprise.
