Twin Lakes Caesar Rodney Golden Ale replaced the sixtel of Sixpoint Mad Scientists #10: Spruce Tip Ale. Caesar Rodney is the dude on the back of the Delaware quarter. If I recall correctly, he is Delaware's Paul Revere. "Been had a little horsy named Paul Revere. Just me and my horsy and a quart of beer. Riding across the land, kicking up sand". Maybe the Beastie Boys were thinking of Caesar Rodney but Paul Revere was a better rhyme. Caesar Rodney sounds like a beer you could easily drink a quart off. It's a gold ale weighing in at 5.5% ABV.
Wow. Yards Thomas Jefferson Tavern Ale never lasts long around here. It's gone already. Replacing it is Duck-Rabbit Schwarzbier. Duck Rabbit specializes in dark beer. Schwarzbier is a Bavarian style black lager. Schwarzbier is a surprisingly hard to find style, even in Bavaria. It's pretty much a stout but with lager yeast, which gives it a mellower flavor. This will be the first beer I drink tonight.
Breckenridge SummerBright replaced Yards Brawler. SummerBright is an American wheat beer, meaning that instead of using German wheat beer yeast, which gives banana and clove flavors, they used American ale yeast.
Victory Sunrise Weissbier replaced Stoudts Heifer-in Wheat. We tapped a few Victory Sunrises this summer and they all flew out before I had a chance to drink any. That shall end tonight; this will be my 2nd beer tonight. I bet this barrel won't last long either.
A sixtel Sierra Nevada Bigfoot replaced the much loved Weyerbacher Seventeen. Bigfoot is Sierra's barley wine that has been around forever. Way back in the day, this was many a beer geek's first taste of barley wine.
