It's a day of labor for some of us here at the Grey Lodge (me included), so why not come down and watch us work? The kitchen and bar are both open regular Monday hours, 10am - 2am for the bar, 11am - midnight for the kitchen. As usual the 2nd floor is closed on Monday evening.
This Week at The Grey Lodge
Our new updated food menu should be released today. Details are at food.greylodge.com. Changes include better vegan options including a falafel sandwich, new salads including Chicken Blueberry Salad, and a new Chicken Wrap.
Wednesday as usual is Quizzo. This week's Quizmaster is Pete. As usual, Quizzo is at 8pm on our 2nd floor.
Draft Beer Update
Manayunk Bills Pils replaced Dogfish Head My Antonia. Bills Pils will be our last pilsner of the season. Bills Pils is a lager from Manayunk, a brewery which has shown they know a thing or two about lagers. After Bills kicks, line 4 will run with Oktoberfest beers until we run out. We are buying as many types of festbiers as we can find; we expect them to run into late October.
On line 5, Great Lakes Doppelrock replaced Troegenator Double Bock. Doppelrock is a German style strong dark lager from Great Lakes, a Cleveland brewery which makes some really great German style beers. Once Doppelrock kicks line 5 will also be dedicated to Oktoberfest beers. We will be buying so many kegs of festbiers, that we will be able to run two lines of them and still have them last until late October.
On line 1, our wheat beer line, Sly Fox Royal Weisse replaced Lost Abbey Witch's Wit. Royal is a traditional unfiltered Bavarian style wheat beer with all the cloudiness and banana and clove flavors you would expect.
Batch 19 Pre-Prohibition Style Lager a nice pre-prohibition lager from Golden CO replaced itself.
On line 8, which for the time being is our pumpkin beer line, Elysian Night Owl Pumpkin replaced Manayunk Yunkin' Punkin'. Line 8 will run with as many types of pumpkin as we can get. We will be buying tons of pumpkin beer, so line 8 should run with pumpkin beers until November.
