This Week at The Grey Lodge
Wednesday, it's Quizzo with Quizmaster James. Quizzo as usual is Wednesday, 8pm, on our 2nd floor. As always prizes and no cover.

On Friday, it's Grey Lodge's Oktoberfest. This one is a little later than usual, but it's still in Oktober. We will have festbier, festfood, and festfun. We also invited all of the local candidates to join us.

Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 2pm it's brunch. What better way to start off a weekend day?

Draft Beer Update
Manayunk Oktoberfest replaced the 2nd quarter barrel of Twin Lakes Saengerbund Oktoberfest. Our huge selection of festbiers for this year is finally getting to the end. Manayunk under their current head brewer Doug has been making some really great lagers. Manaynk needs to free up more tank space to meet demand; with ales taking way less time to mature, expect way fewer lagers from them in the future. So that means, enjoy this one while we got it.

Penn Pilsner replaced Anderson Valley Summer Solstice, which was just as wonderful as I remembered it. Penn Pilsner is one of Pennsylvania's first microbrews, which came out about 30 years ago. I remember when it came out, jeez I'm old. Penn Pilsner is actually a Vienna lager. Those early US microbrews were strangely erronious in naming themselves, Sam Adams Cranberry Lambic being an especially glaring example. Though in the US, we have a long history of that, with mid-Atlantic regional "ales" actually being strong lagers. Anywho Vienna lager is a great beer style and Penn despite it's ups and downs has been a great brewery. It's good to see them back.

And here is what is up at Hop Angel this week.
