This Week at the Grey Lodge Pub
Today is the first day of October, which means I have to put in some serious computer time and get The Log, our monthly email newsletter out. If you aren't already a subscriber, here's where you sign up.

Wednesday, as always, is Quizzo. This week's Quizmaster is Hoagie with "Qlassic Quizzo. General trivia, all killer no filler". It might be a typo; it might be a Q-themed Quizzo. Oh, I get it it's an alliteration or more less. Or maybe I'm wrong as usual and it's none of those. There's one way to find out and that's and that's to stop by on Wednesday at 8pm on our second floor.

Thursday (10/4) is 10-Four Good Buddy when we will feature beer/food pairings. Small plates and small pours so you won't break your wallet or your waistline. 10-Four Good Buddy starts off at 4pm.

On Saturday, a volunteer and I (thanks Marty) will be pouring craft beers in the beer garden that will be part of Father Judge's 10th Annual Taste of NE Philly. Dave, Jason, and the other guy who's name I never remember from Love Brewing home brewers will be pouring their beer too. Should be a very fun time. Of course Chris and crew will be holding down the fort here.

A few miles away, our friends at Hop Angel Brauhaus have a full week planned too.

Draft Beer Update
Hey Zeus, we kicked a lot of beer since Saturday evening.

Kicked: Climax Oktoberfest, 21st Amendment Hop Crisis (sixtel), Brooklyn Oktoberfest, Allagash White, Philadelphia Kenzinger.

Tapped:
Great Lakes Doppelrock - another tasty German style lager from this sizable brewery from Cleveland.

Yards Brawler - a really great session beer from here.

Full Pint Elderflower Saison - I had a few of these last night while watching the Eagles win. Very tasty... the win and the beer. So good you want more than one (both the win and the beer).

Yuengling Oktoberfest - America's oldest brewery is slowly adding seasonal beers to their line-up. This is year two for this one.

Sam Adams Octoberfest - it's easy to dismiss Sam Adams as a too big contract brewer (which isn't really true). If you did, you'd miss great beer like this.

Link of the Day
Know Your States. This is cool. I got an 86. They started me off with Connecticut, which is a little state to get within a few miles of where it belongs on an empty map.
