This Week at the Grey Lodge Pub

This week's Beer Season beer of the week is Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is the iconic microbrew. Sierra Nevada was one of the first microbreweries to break through into the mainstream, and they did that not with a lager but with an aggressively hopped ale. These guys have been improving and growing nonstop for 30 years. Sierra Nevada is the gold standard for breweries. A couple of years ago, Sierra finally got into canning and like most things they do, they raised the bar. Bottle conditioning has been around for a long time; Sierra bottle conditions all of their beers. This means the beer has been packaged with active yeast in the bottle and then aged some more for a secondary fermentation in the bottle. While certainly not the first canned microbrew, not by a longshot, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale was the first ever can-conditioned beer. Cans of this beer are incredibly great.

Tuesday night, it's our Lucky 13 Homebrew Club's monthly meeting. Homebrewers of all skill levels are encouraged to join us. 7:30pm on our 2nd floor.

Wednesday night, Quizzo on our 2nd floor. This week's Quizmaster is Pete. 8pm.

Friday night is Rogue Farm night. We will have all 6 beers that were made with ingredients from Rogue Brewings various farms. 6pm to 9pm. It's also a keep the glass night with special Rogue Farm Mason jar glassware. This would be as a good of night as any to break out your overalls assuming you own any.

As usual, we will be serving brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm. This weekend's brunch special will be Broccoli Bacon Cheddar Quiche with a Roasted Tomato Aioli.

Draft Beer Update

Boulder Sweaty Betty replaced Victory Mad Kings Weisse. Sweaty Betty is a great hefeweizen. One of my favorite beers of all time.

Harpoon 100 Barrel El Triunfo Coffee Porter replaced Rogue Double Mocha Porter. So a coffee porter for a coffee porter. T'is the season for coffee porters. I don't take cream or sugar with my coffee; I take it with beer.
