Philly Beer Week Recap

Man, Philly Beer Week was a time! Hard to believe it was only 10 days. I felt for sure it was time to work on The Log already.

Thanks to all of our employees and volunteers who helped to make it awesome! Thanks to all the breweries and reps who worked with us to make it so memorable. And of course a huge thanks to everyone who came out to one or more events.

Let's Make a Deal was a blast. We'll be doing several nights of it next year, bigger and better! If anyone has pictures or video from Let's Make a Deal, please email them to me at scoats@greylodge.com... thanks!

This Week at The Grey Lodge Pub

Today, for us in the MGMT Bunker is when we take a deep breath and begin to catch up on the all regular work we didn't do last week. For you folks on the better side of the bar, it's when you get to drink some goodies you missed last week or catch them again before they kick.

Tuesday is Taco Tuesday. Chef Dave has two different tacos for us each week. It's also the monthly meeting of Lucky 13, our home brew club. Home brewers of all experience levels are encouraged to join us. Lucky 13 is at 7:30pm. Tacos are 5pm to midnight.

Wednesday is Quizzo with Quizmaster Pete. As usual, Quizzo is at 8pm on our 2nd floor.

Saturday & Sunday, we have brunch from 10am to 3pm. Chef Dave updated our brunch menu last week. Our regular menu is available too.

Sunday is Father's Day. Dad wants a beer not a tie, so why not treat him to one or more with us? Our second floor will open at noon for Fathers Day. Our first floor opens at 10am. Brunch and regular menus will be available from 10am to 11pm.

Draft Beer Upate

We had to do a lot of juggling of draft beer for Philly Beer Week. So a bunch of stuff has come back and that's a good thing. We got some goodies here.

Kicked: Samuel Adams Double Agent IPL (sixtel), Samuel Adams Backwoods Porter (sixtel), Troegs Sunshine Pils, Sly Fox Pikeland Pils, Neshaminy Creek Trauger Pils.

Retapped:

Weyerbacher Zulu - the last of Weyerbacher's NATO series is a very nice Berliner Weisse.

Green Flash Hop Odyssey Imperial Red Rye IPA - this is a super hoppy rye beer from our good friends at Green Flash.

De La Senne Manneken-Penn - Every year Philly Beer Week holds a raffle and a lucky winner gets to go to brew a beer in Belgium and take a brewer from his favorite local brewery to go with him. This year the beer was brewed at De la Senne in Brussels (where it was 30F in the brewery) with Weyerbacher collaborating. Manneken Penn is an abbey style Dubbel with flaked oats.

Susquehanna Pils-Noir - this dark pilsner from upstate is really tasty. Hop Angel's Allie and Brittney both highly recommend it. You can enjoy it here too.

Victory Schwarz Pils - another dark pilsner. Drink both and compare.
