Kicked: Sixpoint Crisp Pilsner, Weyerbacher White Sun Wit, Lost Abbey Red Barn Ale.
Tapped:
Penn Kaiser Pils - So 30 years ago when nobody knew nothing about beer, a microbrewery opened in Pittsburgh making a very nice Vienna lager. And because it was a time when nobody knew nothing, they called it Penn Pilsner, even though it wasn't a pilsner. Fast forward 20 years later to when we all knew loads about beer. Penn couldn't change the name of their flagship beer, but they wanted to make a great pilsner just like so many others in Pennsylvania were doing. The result was this one, Penn Kaiser Pils. It's yet another great pilsner made here in the keystone state. You know, come to think of it, we really should rename PA to the pilsner state. Let's get Lew Bryson to work on that after he finishes with his state store project.
Weyerbacher Aquila - Weyerbacher used up all the NATO letters, so they have moved onto constellations. Aquila is a light-bodied Belgian Farmhouse-style ale with heavy American aroma. Pale, Toasted Wheat and Rye malts are combined with Bravo and Simcoe hops to yield this 7.1% Farmhouse ale. I remember this one, we had it on for Philly Beer Week. Very nice.
Aquila is Latin for eagle. Greeks or Romans had more imagination than I do (or drank a lot more than I do) since I never think any of the constellations ever look like anything. But I'll give them this one. It does sort of look like an eagle.
Dogfish Head Festina Peche - this is Dogfish's awesome peach Berliner weisse. Berliner weisses are very sour. The peach makes for a great balance. Probably my favorite Dogfish Head beer. And it's low octane which is nice for us oldheads. The girls at Hop Angel, Brittney and Christine, both love this one too.
