Draft Beer Update
On our black beer line, Duclaw Sweet Baby Jesus! replaced Sprecher Black Bavarian. Sweet Baby Jesus is a chocolate peanut butter porter. Peanut butter and beer sounds like a disaster but I've had several, including a homebrew from Anthony Coia, that were awesome. This beer has a lot of buzz about it so it probably won't last long.
On our session beer line,
Summit Union Series #1: Meridian Session Ale replaced Dock Street Whiter Shade of Pale Berliner. Summit Meridian tastes a lot De La Senne's Taras Bulba, and that's a good thing since Taras is an awesome little beer. My perception is that the wonderfulness of this beer comes from the yeast and from the mix of hops. Yvan of De La Senne is proud of his yeast, which is a she BTW. He is a very watchful steward of her. I wonder if he gave some to Summit to make this beer, or if they scored a similar yeast elsewhere. To make a long story longer, this is a really tasty little beer. One of my favorites, both the original and this version.
