This Week at the Grey Lodge

120 on 1/20: Today is January 20th, which means we tap a sixtel of Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA. We have been doing this for years now. For more details, please click the link or jump down to Draft Beer Update.

Beer Season: This week's Beer Season beer of the week is Anchor Bock. I going to reuse what I wrote when we tapped it on Friday: Anchor is discontinuing Bock after this year. Anchor historically was part old school regional brewery and part modern craft brewery. Bocks, darker, somewhat stronger lagers, were a staple spring seasonal beer for US regional brewers for much of the 20th century. I remember Schmidts Bock. Yuengling just reintroduced a bock beer as a spring seasonal a couple of years ago. It looks like Anchor's new owners want more modern craft and less old school. That might not be a bad thing, but it is change. So catch this one while you can. Unlike the Terminator, Anchor Bock won't be back (but it will always be bock).

We have two halves of Anchor Bock. If both kick before the week is over, Yuengling Bock will fill in as beer of the week.

Taco Tuesday: Tuesday is Taco Tuesday from 5pm to midnight. Our kitchen krew comes up with three different tacos every week. Tacos are 3 for $7, mix and match as you like. The current week's selections are updated here every Tuesday afternoon.

Quizzo: Wednesday we have Quizzo at 8pm. This week's Quizmaster is Chris3. As usual Quizzo will be on our 2nd floor.

Weekend Brunch: Saturday and Sunday, we serve Brunch from 10am to 3pm. In addition to our regular brunch menu, Big Dan has a brunch special every weekend. Our regular menu is available too.

Draft Beer Update

Just in time for today's 120 on 01/20 event, Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA (sixtel) replaced Samuel Adams Old Fezziwig Ale (sixtel). 120 Minute is Dogfish Head's over the top 120. It's about 20% ABV with loads and loads and loads of hops. If the first sixtel kicks too quick, we have a 2nd one we can tap.
Manayunk Lock 70 Oatmeal Stout replaced Dock Street Little Prince Stout. One local oatmeal stout for another. Not a bad swap.
