This Week at the Grey Lodge
Monday: Beer and Cheese Week 4 Catch-up: If you missed last night's cheese in our epic 169 week Beer and Cheese Odyssey, you might have a chance to catch up. We have a little bit of last night's cheese left over. Last night's cheese was Truffle Tremor with Allagash Saison. This really rich cheese is accompanied by duck fat roasted walnuts tossed with marjoram. Wowza. I think this was our best pairing yet. The pairing will be available from 5pm until supply runs out.
Taco Tuesday: Tuesday is Taco Tuesday from 5pm to midnight. Our kitchen krew comes up with three different tacos every week. Tacos are 3 for $8, mix and match as you like. The current week's selections are updated here every Tuesday afternoon.
Tuesday is also. St. Patrick's Day, so wear your green.
Quizzo: Wednesday we have Quizzo at 8pm. This week's Quizmistress will be Shannon McD, making her Quizzo debut. As usual Quizzo will be on our 2nd floor.
Meet the Candidates Night: On Friday, between 7 and 9pm, we will have a bunch of candidates in for informal meet and greets. We are inviting candidates to join us every Friday until the election in May. We have reached out to everyone (or will have within the next couple of days), but not everyone has gotten back to us. If you know a candidate who isn't signed up yet, please ask them to contact us.
This week we are expecting Derek Green (D) and Isaiah Thomas (D) candidates for City Council at Large, Carol Jenkins (D) and Stephanie Singer (D) candidates for City Commissioner and Jim Kenney (D) candidate for Mayor.
Weekend Brunch: Saturday and Sunday, we serve Brunch from 10am to 3pm. In addition to our regular brunch menu, Big Dan has a brunch special every weekend. Our regular menu is available too. This week's brunch special will be Pesto Scrambled Eggs over Home Fries.
Sunday Night Special: Beer and Cheese Pairing. It's week seven of our week 169 week Beer and Cheese Odyssey. For 169 weeks, we will feature one of the 169 cheeses profiled in Di Bruno Bros. House of Cheese: A Guide to Wedges, Recipes, and Pairings by Tenaya Darlington. This week's pairing will be Challerhocker & Flying Fish Exit 4 Trippel. Challerhocker may be my new favorite cheese.
Draft Beer Update
Wow, Sierra Nevada Hop Hunter IPA barely lasted a day. Replacing it on our IPA line is Troegs Nugget Nectar. Two wayward kegs of Nugget showed back up at the wholesaler, so we grabbed them. This one won't last long. Nor will the second one, which will be on after Captain Lawrence IPA will come on when the first Nugget kicks.
