This Week at the Grey Lodge

Phillies Afternoon Game: Today the Phillies are on at 1pm against the Mets. Unlike the Phillies concession stand, we are not able to provide you with a plastic helmet to puke in while watching the game, but we do have beers to cry into. If you'd rather not water down your beer, we can give you a separate pint glass for your tears.

Anyway watch the game with us, you need a support group.

But seriously, the Phils have looked 1/2 decent the last few games so it shouldn't be that bad.

Taco Tuesday: Tuesday is Taco Tuesday from 5pm to midnight. Our kitchen krew comes up with three different tacos every week. Tacos are 3 for $8, mix and match as you like. The current week's selections are updated here every Tuesday afternoon.

Home Brew Club As usual on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, the Lucky 13 Homebrew Club meets meets on our 2nd floor. This is fun time for any home brewer, whether a beginner or a master.

Quizzo: Wednesday we have Quizzo at 8pm. This week's Quizmaster is Chook, who will have an 80s Movies Quizzo. As usual Quizzo will be on our 2nd floor.

Meet the Candidates: We have invited all of the candidates to join us for informal meet and greets. Many have accepted. Last week we had 5 candidates in, two Fridays from now we will have 6 or more. This Friday, just one so far, Tom Wyatt (D) for city council at large. He will be in at 7pm.

Weekend Brunch: Saturday and Sunday, we serve Brunch from 10am to 3pm. In addition to our regular brunch menu, Big Dan has a brunch special every weekend. Our regular menu is available too. In honor of Valentines Day, this week's brunch special will be Heuvos Rancheros: Corn tortillas topped with jack and cheddar cheese, chorizo (sausage), three over-easy eggs, salsa and a side of sour cream, with a side of hash browns.

Sunday Night Special: Beer and Cheese Pairing. It's week two of our week 169 week Beer and Cheese Odyssey. For 169 weeks, we will feature one of the 169 cheeses profiled in Di Bruno Bros. House of Cheese: A Guide to Wedges, Recipes, and Pairings by Tenaya Darlington. This week's pairing will be Ossau-Iraty & PBC Rowhouse Red.

Draft Beer Update
On our big beer/small pour line, Samuel Adams Escape Route (sixtel) replaced Fegley's Brew Works 10 On the Richter Scale (sixtel). This is one of Sam Adams special super limited, one off, sixtels only beers. Escape Route is an unfiltered Kolsch.

It was decided last week that 2015 will be the Summer of Kolsch here at the Grey Lodge. A week or so ago, Regina McKee asked about getting in some kolsches. I never bothered to get into kolsches, because I was too cool for koslch. I've decided to stop being such an asshat and give them a try. Kolsches are delicate, light beers. An unfiltered version should be interesting.

Brooklyn / New Belgium Wild Horse Running Porter replaced Stone Stochasticity Project Quadrotriticale. YES YES YES this is a beer right up my alley, a sour black beer. To make it even better, it comes in at a reasonable price! I cannot wait to try this. I love sour beers, but man the black sour beers are just especially great.
