Thu, 02 July 2015

It's summer and we're feeling a little lazy or at least I am. I'm still pretty productive but The Log will be a couple of days late this month. That's no problem as July is a no news is good news sort of month; which means we're doing all the normal stuff, great food, great beer, good times, nice people, air conditioning, etc.

If you're like us and can't think of a better place to be for Independence Day than right here in our country's birthplace, then please stop by and see us between bbqs and fireworks. We'll be here with all the no news is good news stuff.

We'll have red, white, & blue pancakes for brunch both Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 2pm.

Draft Beer Update

Manayunk Grand Cru Flanders Red replaced Founders Rubaeus. Manayunk's Grand Cru is a Flemish style Red which means it is wonderfully sweet and also wonderfully sour. Grand Cru isn't actually a style; it translates loosely as "our best beer". This one is worthy of the name.

On our wheat beer line, Victory Whirlwind Wit replaced Troegs Dream Weaver Wheat. Whirlwind, long a spring staple of Victory's seasonal line-up got retired a few years ago. Now that Victory has a huge new brewery, it's back. This is a traditional Belgian style white beer. Victory is one of those breweries who can do no wrong when it comes to beer; Whirlwind is further proof.
