Draft Beer Update
Russian River Pliny the Younger came and went yesterday. It came in on Monday. We tweeted, bookfaced, and blogged that morning that we would be tapping it at 8pm last night, as those hops weren't getting any fresher. We started giving out tickets at 7pm. By 7:15pm all of the tickets were gone. We tapped it a little early, at 7:50pm or so. At 8:01pm Younger was kicked on both floors. Most everyone who came in for Pliny the Younger, got some; even those who were too late to get a ticket. It was a wonderful night and wasn't the sh%tshow it could have been. If fact, it was opposite. Thanks to everyone who made it so fun to be at the Lodge last night.

Thanks to Ryan Hudak for snapshot in time of the brief 15 minutes that Younger was on tap.

Boxcar Long Winter’s Night replaced Stoudts Scarlet Lady. Boxcar is a relative newcomer to the Philly brewery scene. This winter seasonal is a brown ale with clementines added. Sounds very interesting. I hope to make a trip down to West Chester soon to check them out.

Sixpoint 7th Anniversary Ale replaced Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA. It's a Belgian red IPA with an ABV of 7, and 77 IBUs. I'm headed up to North Jersey for the night, so please leave some for me to taste tomorrow night.

Absolutely great crowd last night. The crowd added to how good the beer was. Everybody was in a great mood and very friendly. Just a great vibe in the bar. It was a great night. It was just handled so well.

Also, Scoats, it was a great way of guaranteeing 80 people coming to your bar for 2 hours on a Tuesday night in February and each buying 3-4 beers and possibly dinner.
