Wow. All three halves tapped since yesterday are exciting beers.
Long time crowd favorite Dogfish Head Punkin Ale replaced Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin. We have loads more Dogfish Head Punkin Ales to get tapped this fall and winter, so enjoy and then enjoy again later.
The legendary Founders Breakfast Stout replaced Atwater Vanilla Java Porter. We tapped a 15.5 gallon barrel of Breakfast Stout at 7am last Groundhog Day. It was kicked dry in just 80 minutes! And we're talking 7am here. Two were able to get two halves, one of which you can enjoy right now, and one that we are saving for Groundhog Day 2009.
The first of this season's wet-hopped beers was tapped. Harpoon Glacier Harvest replaced Elysian Immortal IPA. Wet-hopped beers use freshly harvested hops that are still wet. Due to the growing season, these beers can only be made once a year using Northern Hemisphere hops. We have Weyerbacher Harvest up after Harpoon. Victory Harvest Pils (two of them) and Harvest Ale are on the radar, and we expect a barrel of Sierra Nevada Harvest Ale too.
Today's Link: Talking of wet-hopped beers, Homer Doh sent us this link to a video featuring Weyerbacher's Hop Farm.
