Tonight at The Grey Lodge it's Really Taste the Rockies, Colorado Night featuring Boulder, Paper, Scissors Finals. We have a really great diversity of Colorado Beer on for tonight plus much more.
Boulder is giving away two tickets to a Phillies/Rockies game for the winner of Boulder, Paper Scissors. The competition will start at 7pm.
Boulder reps including Marvin their East Coast rep and if I remember correctly the President of Boulder Beer will be along with him. They will be here from 6pm to 9pm.
Reps from Oskar Blues and Left Hand are expected to pop in this evening as well. Who knows what goodies they will have.
Colorado Beers will be available all day.
Draft Beer Update
Tapped:
- Boulder Mojo IPA. Boulder is one of the original microbreweries and has been around now for 30+ years. Everything they make is rock solid.
- Boulder Single Track Copper Ale. A rock solid copper ale from Boulder. Another Boulder beer is that chock full of what I call "beer value".
- Breckenridge SummerBright. Breckenridge is a ski resort town. They also have a substantial operations in Denver including a large production brewery with an attached BBQ restaurant. I drove past the brewpub once and drove past the brewery last year on the way back from Stranahan Distillery. I have been in their pub near the Rockies field several times though. Next time I'm in Denver I'll make out to the brewery restaurant for some BBQ. We've had SummerBright on tap several times here at the G-Lodge and it flew out every time. This is another rock solid Colorado brewery.
- Great Divide Espresso oak-aged Yeti (sixtel) - Great Divide is a production brewery on the outskirts of Downtown Denver. They have been available here in Philly for at least 13 years. This a coffee infused version of the oak aged version of their imperial stout, so it's doubly special.
- Left Hand Juju Ginger. Left Hand is one of the mountain towns that make up much of Colorado. And each of those towns pretty much has a brewpub. Left Hand is a rare one that I haven't been too (or driven past). Their beer is superior and comes here so maybe I don't need to go to them.
- Oskar Blues Gubna. Oskar Blues was the first microbrewery to can their beer. I remember the first time I had their beer in cans; it was definitely a prove it to me moment. One taste and I was converted to the superiority of cans. We've had Gubna cans in for a while. This is a rare sixtel of this high octane, hoppy beer.
- Tommyknocker Maple Nut Brown - This comes from the small town of Idaho Springs. They did a really nice job of restoring Idaho Springs; it's a really cool place. Tommyknocker Brewpub is the on Main Street, where it has been for at least 15 years. A few doors away is the Buffalo Cafe, a super cool old bar, that has been there since about 1900.
Retapped:
- Great Divide Dunkel Weisse. This dunkelweisse is extremely unfiltered
- Boulder Sweaty Betty. This kick-ass wheat beer is always a Grey Lodge favorite.
Untapped: Elk Creek Penns Valley Pilsner, Cricket Hill Jersey Shore Breakfast Ale.
The Great Divide Espresso oak-aged Yeti (sixtel), Oskar Blues Gubna and the Tommyknocker Maple Nut Brown are not on just yet but when the Shawnee VSOP, Ramstein Double Platinum Blonde and Breaker I-Love-PA kick they will take their place. There is not much left in either three so the Colorado beers will be on by 6PM.
Link of the Day
Philly.com has some nice pix of the Hammer of Glory relay. The Grey Lodge was the starting point for the relay, so we are the beginning.
