Tonight's Philly Beer Week Festivities
Tonight is Scoats and Lew's Upstate Pennsylvania Breweries Beer Haul. Scoats and Lew made a very long day trip through our great Commonwealth picking up sixtels from small breweries and brewpubs who's beers are seldom, if ever, seen here in Philly.

Draft Beer Update
Tapped:
  • Bavarian Barbarian 2x4 IPA (sixtel) - After day of wheat beers, we have 3 IPAs for our hopheds. 2x4 is the first; it's from West Williamsport PA.
  • Berwick One Guy Atomic Punk IPA (sixtel) - Atomic Punk is tonight's second IPA. We've had this on tap a couple of times before and it flew out every time. I expect history to repeat itself.
  • Breaker I-Love-PA (sixtel) - Our 3rd IPA of the night comes from a tiny, tiny brewery in Plains PA. It's literally in somebody's garage.
  • cask-conditioned Bullfrog Liquid Sunshine Reserva (sixtel) is now on our beer engine. This is Flemish style sour ale from Williamsport PA.
  • Elk Creek Penns Valley Pilsner (sixtel) - I can't wait to see how this pilsner from Millheim PA compares to the many great pilsners we have here in PA.
  • Old Forge Alt (sixtel) - an alt from Danville's sleek but cozy brewpub.
  • Shawnee VSOP (sixtel) - this one is a must try. A high octane Belgain style ale made with organic honey from Philadelphia. It has been aged in wood (Apple Jack barrels if I recall correctly). The result is a beer with loads going on, yet is remarkably smooth. It's a log flume for your taste buds.
Kicked: cask-conditioned Dock Street West of Center Pale Ale.

Uptapped but Coming Back: Dock Street Bubbly Wit, Franziskaner Dunkelweisse, Magic Hat Circus Boy, Victory Mad Kings Weisse, Great Divide Dunkel Weisse, Boulder Sweaty Betty. These were tapped for yesterday's Wheat Beer Brunch. We need to make some room for tonight's beers, so we have to untap them. They shall return.
