Draft Beer Update
Week 5's Beer Season Beer of the Week has been tapped a day early. It's a Throwback from Wayback, meaning back in the early days of the Grey Lodge and the local craft beer moment. Dogfish Head Shelter Pale Ale was Dogfish's original beer. I still remember when it first came into the Grey Lodge along with Chicory Stout. This barrel of Shelter replaced Anchor Our Special Ale.

Victory Harvest Ale replaced Great Lakes Christmas Ale. I said when we tapped what was scheduled to be last wet-hopped harvest beers that I expected a couple more at least to show up. And indeed another wayward harvest ale has shown up at our door. For those who don't know yet, harvest or wet-hopped beers use hops picked fresh off of the vine and can only be brewed once a year. The fresh wet hops give a different flavor from dried hops.

Great Lakes and Anchor Christmas beers may have kicked, but we still have loads of Sly Fox Christmas and Troegs Mad Elf on tap. Both of which would make nice sippers for the Ealges game tonight.
