Barcraft at the Grey Lodge this Sunday

Tomorrow the Grey Lodge will be hosting BarCraft. What is BarCraft?... well I'll let Doug Hammond explain:

I promised you a little more information so you know exactly what you are getting into. This Sunday, Major League Gaming MLG is hosting a big tournament in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The one game in particular that we want to focus on during this event is StarCraft2, a recently released sequel to the popular game StarCraft developed by Blizzard in 1998. These games have become so popular they have a well established pro gamming scene in Korea and an ever growing pro gamming scene in America and across Europe. StarCraft along with many other competitive games such as Halo and Counter Strike have created a growing community dedicated to e-sports.

Our event Sunday is what is known as a BarCraft, as you can see it's just the combination of StarCraft and Bar. Here is a recent article by The Wall Street Journal profiling the emergence of BarCrafting in the U.S. Here is another recent article published by SanDiego.com
titled "The E-Sports Spectator Movement; BarCraft Brings StarCraft to a Local San Diego Bar. I hope to use this Sunday as a kickoff point to establish a successful Philadelphia BarCraft. The Grey Lodge is a great place to host such an event and I'm very glad you have given us opportunity to share it with you.

All I had to hear was "Korea" and "computers". Korea easily has the coolest net scene of any country.

Doug will be hooking his laptop up to one or more of our TVs to stream the tournament. I believe Doug is planning to start streaming from when we open at 11am until well into the evening.

We will be serving brunch from 11am until 3pm. Our regular menu will be available all day as well.
