Draft Beer News
Ack, due to bunch of circumstances, we didn't update the beer page all weekend, and the midweek update got lost. Sorry about that.

We moved some beer since Tuesday.

Kicked: Flying Fish Oktoberfish, Victory Braumeister Pils Czech Sladek, Dogfish Head Punkin Ale, High Noon Annies Amber, Victory Festbier, Summit Silver Anniversary, gravity pour, cask conditioned Stoudts Roasted Carrot ESB, Manayunk Black Eye PA, Dock Street Belgian Cowboy Saison, Bear Republic, Heavy Seas Prosit!

This is a great time of the year for beer with loads of Oktoberfest beers, pumpkin beers, and fresh hopped beers. And we have loads of all three.

Tapped:
Heavy Seas Marzen - this is Heavy Seas' regular festbier, which clocks in the usual moderate ABV for festbiers. It replaced their Prosit!, which clocks in at 9% ABV. Unlike Prosit! this one gets the point of festbiers.

Brooklyn Oktoberfest - this is a rather traditional Munich marzen style festbier.

Victory Scarlet Fire - Victory's smoked lager is back. For those of us who love rauchbiers.

Dock Street Wheat Saison - this is the last of Dock Street's run of five saisons for the summer.

Manayunk Festbier - Oktoberfest is in full swing in Munich and so are we. This is yet another wonderful festbier. This may well be the best time of the year for beer drinkers.

Sixpoint Bengali Tiger IPA - a very popular IPA, and with good reason.

Dogfish Head Punkin Ale - this is our last of the three "regular" rotation kegs of Punkin for 2011. We are saving one each for Halloween, Thanksgiving Eve, and Thanksgiving Night. We hope to have a few more pumpkin beers lined up after this one, but supplies look iffy.

Weyerbacher Harvest Ale - the first of the season's harvest or wet-hopped beers. Usually brewers have to use dried hops. Once a year, they can brew using hops fresh (wet) off the vine. These beers have a noticeably different, fresher taste. The plan is for 4 or 5 more fresh hopped beers to be lined up after this one.

High Noon Stampede Stout - the other beer this Leavenworth, KS brewery has sent to the Philly market. Their Annie's Amber was quite popular. I'm looking forward to trying this one.

This Week at the Grey Lodge
Wed - Quizzo with Quizmaster Chris3. As always Quizzo is on Wednesday at 8pm on our 2nd floor.

Fri - Spaten Oktoberfest, 6pm - 9pm. We'll have beer, food and music, all of the staples of a proper Oktoberfest.
- On tap will be various festbiers, including Spaten Oktoberfest, which is an authentic style marzen beer right from the source, Munich.
- Chef Eric worked with Chef Kevin from Hop Angel Brauhaus for a bunch of German food specials, bratwurst and knockwurst with mashed potatoes, and jager schnitzel with mashed potatoes, and we will also have Apple strudel.
- Plus Spaten's Tom Neuhauser will be jamming on his accordion.

Sat & Sun - Brunch. Every weekend we dish up a very tasty brunch. 10am - 3pm on Saturdays, and 11am to 3pm on Sundays. Pictures, courtesy of Chef Eric, will be posted on Thursday.
