Our first Troegs Nugget Nectar of 2012 kicked. Replacing it is Victory Ranch R Double IPA. I'm tired so I'm just going to flat out steal the description from Uncle Jack's blog:

Victory’s Ranch R Double IPA, [is] the second of probably six single double IPA’s that Victory plans to brew this year. The Centennial hops used in this beer are from the Roy hop farm in the Yakima Valley area. The first one in this series of IIPA’s was Ranch S, which was brewed and dry hopped exclusively with Cascade hops from the Seymour hops farm in the Yakima Valley area. As with all Victory hopped beers, only whole flower hops were used in both brewing and dry hopping. The Ranch R abv content is 9% and Ranch S was 10%.

If you don't already read Jack Curtin's blog every day, you probably should. Also you should stay off Jack's lawn. He's sick of you punk kids running all over it. On second thought, old men like to be crabby, so you will doing him a favor.

We have another Nugget Nectar lined up after the Ranch R. Three more Nuggets are due in next week.

Philadelphia Kilty Pleasure replaced the sixtel of Boaks Monster Mash. Kilty is Philly's high octane Scotch Ale. This seasonal is one of Philly's most popular beers.

Ommegang Witte replaced Boaks Double BW. Ommegang is a Belgian owned brewery located in Cooperstown NY. I definitely want to re-try a Wit made by Belgians here in the USA. In fact that will be my first beer tonight.

Stoudts Karnival Kolsch replaced Manayunk Bills Pils. Ah just a little late for Fat Tuesday, Karnival Kolsch is a light ale made in the Cologne style. Colgone is one of several German cities that puts on a huge Karnival before Lent. Speaking of Lent, the fish tacos were especially excellent tonight.

Dock Street ABT 10 replaced Dock Street ABT 8. ABT 10 is Dock Street's Abbey Trippel. ABT 8 was their Dubbel. We have their Quad lined up for Quad Day on April 4th. This trippel clocks in at a little under 8% ABV, making a slighter lower octane than most trippels. I had one on Wedneday, very tasty. Like being back in Belgium.

8pm Update: Heavy Seas Black Cannon replaced Harpoon 100 Barrel Black IPA. A black IPA from an H brewery replacing a black IPA from an H brewery. How is that for symmetry?

Stouts Season shirts should be available on Sunday.
