Between Pi(e) Day and St. Patrick's Day, last week was a heavy work week for us at the G-Lodge. We mostly just have the usual goodness this week, and that's not bad. Pi(e) Day was awesome. Jesse from Yards and I will really take Pi(e) Day over the top next year. If you have any Pi(e) Day ideas, please let me know (scoats@greylodge.com), thanks.
This week's Quizmaster is Chris3. As always Quizzo is Wednesdays, 8pm on our 2nd floor.
Our new chef, Dave Champagne, starts this week. We will give him a few days to acclimate himself before we do the grand introduction. Dave is charged with keeping our classic menu items at their award winning caliber, while introducing some new things to our menu. I expect great things from Dave. Dave will likely be blogging our food specials.
I want to especially thank our kitchen crew who really stepped up last week while we were between chefs. They worked extra long hours and came up with great food for Pi(e) Day. Thanks guys!
Draft Beer Update
On line 10, our big beer line, a sixtel of Otter Creek 20th Anniversary Ale replaced Philadelphia Kilty Pleasure. Wow 20 years for Otter Creek. That's a long time. I remember really enjoying a bottle of their Copper Ale 19 years ago, long before they made their way down to us in PA. For their 20th Anniversary beer, the folks at Otter Creek took their flagship Copper Ale and quadrupeled it. Using 4 times the malt (and I suppose 4 times the hops) has resulted in this 12% copper monster. Small pours only.
The firkin of Yards Vanilla Love Stout is history. Hmmm... "History" might be more appropriate for kicked firkin of one Yards's Ales of Revolution beers.
