Dogfish Head Tweason'Ale replaced Russian River Damnation. Tweason'Ale is a weird one even for our friends at Dogfish Head. Tweason is "a gluten-free sorghum based beer brewed with fresh strawberries". I had one last night. I will say it definitely tastes like a gluten-free beer. We tried to put it on the cider line, but that didn't work, so we do NOT recommend this beer for those afflicted with celiac. Anyway it is a very interesting beer. There's a lot of organic stuff coming together here (sorgum, honey, strawberries). I didn't really love it, but think I'll have another one tonight just try to get a better handle on everything that is going on in it. Some beers you love at first sip. Other beers you fall in love with later and wonder what was wrong with the younger you (Guinness, lambics). Maybe tonight it will be love and I will wonder what was wrong with the 24 hour younger me (please don't email me with want is wrong with me, my inbox can only handle so much mail).
We don't manage to score much River Horse, but anytime we can, we do. River Horse Brewers Reserve Batch 009: Chocolate Porter replaced Brooklyn Irish Stout. I had one of these last night too (it was a good night). This one's another winner. Very chocolately but also very much beer. I can't see a beer this awesome lasting too long.
Cider fans, cider is back on tap! We were planning to put the Tweason on the cider line, but that didn't work out for us, so the cider line was dry for a few days. Woodchuck Dark and Dry Cider has ended the cider draught drought.
6:30pm Update: Sixpoint Spice of Life IPA - Citra was a big it while it lasted. Replacing it is Troegs Nugget Nectar, this year's It beer. Well Nugget Nectar was the It beer previous years too, but people seem extra in search of it this year. We have already kicked two kegs. We got this one, plus I am told two more showing up soon.
