Great Lakes Christmas Ale replaced Abita Christmas Ale. One of the original spiced Christmas microbrews made in the USA, this one didn't find it's way here until last year (or maybe it was the year before). Cinnamon and ginger make this a festive brew.
Also tapped earlier today were:
Sly Fox Christmas Ale - The original locally made spiced Christmas Ale. Still as tasty and popular as ever. This one has been a Grey Lodge holiday staple since the late 1990s. Try a small one along side a small Great Lakes Christmas and see which one you prefer. I'm going to try that in a few minutes myself.
Russian River Pliny the Elder - Russian River is a king of IPAs. Elder is their double IPA. Not as rare as Younger but still a bit rare. This one never lasts long. I predict 24 hours on tap.
Chris started a blog entry but something wrong so I don't remember what these beers replaced for the most part.
